WARRIOR... A True Inspiration

Family is worth fighting for.
Fight for Family.
Fight for Country
"Marco" is the Italian name for Warrior, and when it comes to mixed martial arts aka MMA, there isn't a single soul who is not a "Marco".
Anderson "The Spider" Silva, Randy "The Natural" Couture, Chuck "The Ice-Man" Liddell, B.J Penn Brian "The All American" Stann and George "Rush" St-Pierre... These are just some of the worlds best examples of what a  warrior truly is.
Most people I am sure thought when they saw the trailer for warrior they just believed it was going to be another fighter movie with just a small lesson to learn, this is wrong completely. Warrior is going to take you on a journey you have never seen on the silver screen before, and it will put the ultimate question in your heart... what do you fight for?
In this film which will no doubt be astonishing has the perfect formula for a heart gripping inspirational film. It will be led by director Gavin O'Connor who also directed the inspirational film "Miracle", and staring in this film will be Tom Hardy who was in "Inception" and will be in "The Dark Knight Rises" which comes out next summer. Joel Edgerton who played a small roll as Owen Lars in Star Wars: The Attack Of The Clones and Revenge Of The Sith. Nick Nolte will also be making a huge roll as the father to both Hardy and Edgerton, and you know as well as I do that when a film has Nick Nolte in it, you know Nolte will bring his A game and nothing less.
Warrior is about two brothers (Hardy, Edgerton) who have never had the perfect family or relationship with each other, and both are doing what they know to survive. Hardy is a honorable soldier in the U.S.M.C. who saves a fellow marine from death and is known as a hero to everyone. Edgerton is a loving father and husband who tries to provide his family with a decent living but is down on his luck, going broke and is down to the only few options he has left.
Most people always wonder why and how two people can step into an octagon and beat each other up? The answer is quite easy... each of them has something to fight for. Any true MMA fighter will tell you that if you don't have heart, determination and something to fight for then you are just another man, not a warrior. The best examples of that are Anderson Silva who fights for his legacy and to be a better fighter, Brian Stann Who fights for his fellow Marines, his family and his country and Randy Couture fights for everything that he has helped built and established in MMA and in the UFC.
I will leave you with this final word that I believe Warrior will be one of the best movies to see this fall, it is something you won't want to miss. Everybody in the world is always looking for the perfect example to put them on a good pathway, and I say look no further then Warrior. It will grasp your heart and will leave you breathless and will leave you with a very important question... for country, for family or for love what do you fight for?

Zoe Saldana has a unfilable appitite for revenge in "Colombiana"

"I did not want the fighting scenes to be forgiving or flexible
because there was a women fighting a man"
Zoe Saldana is one of very few female actresses who not only can do a role that some would have you to believe it was meant to be for a male, but she has such determination and charisma and plenty of heart to show the world that this role was not fitting for a male, but that it was not meant for another actress either.
Saldana plays the character of  "Cataleya Restrepo" who at the age of 9yrs old witnesses the slaughter of her mother and father right before her very eyes. Cataleya's uncle takes her in and teaches her how to become the ultimate assassin... literally. Colombiana is going to be like mission impossible meets taken, and like taken it will have some pretty intence violence and jaw dropping moments. Saldana is going to be showing real grit in this film by taking audiences on a real thrill ride that will keep you at the edge of your seat and give you such an amazing feeling that you will feel like the film gave you a 100% pure adrenaline rush.
One important note to keep in mind when you watch this film is to remember the old phrase "Hell hath no fury like a women's scorned". Saldana is going to remind the world why that phrase should always be remembered, cause she will show audiences around the world what happens when a women is left with her last option in life, you can either give up and crawl under a rock and die from regret and fear... or you can fight to the very end with every breath that pumps threw your very body. "Colombiana" will be Saldana's first solo debut, and from what the trailers show, Saldana will make a huge impact to audiences everywhere. Some people however believe that Saldana will fall on her face and not get recognized for her hard work. I can assure you that is no doubt false. How do you know you might ask? My answer is quite genuine and simple. Saldana stood along side James Cameron as Cameron released one of the and if not the biggest film in cinema history "Avatar". Any one who truly knows anything about film or is a big fan would not debate the fact that when James Cameron makes a film the words groundbreaking and earth shattering don't even complete the full words to describe a James Cameron film. Cameron only wants the best in his films, Cameron has no room for a margin of error and  actors and actresses who do not want to share his vision. Saldana took Cameron's hand and she let him guide her to a world no one to believe possible, and in the end of that amazing ride Saldana had more confidence in herself to be everything that not only did James Cameron see, but her loved ones in her life that will always stand beside her.
I would like to leave you with this final word.
I truly feel that Zoe Saldana is the real deal, she brings such rawness and amazing talent to the silver screen, that if you miss Colombiana you will be missing a great film with pure talent and good old fashion ass kicking action.

The Rebirth of Conan:The Barbariean!!!

" This will be the "origins"  for Conan, to see how it all began"- Jason Momoa

When the name Conan comes to your mind, what word best describes him? The irresistible force, The immovable object? both those strong words truly show how Conan is, was and will always be the king of kings of warrior and barbarian films.
This is a definite challenge for three big parties in this film. The first party is the studio house responsible for making this film which happens to be "Lionsgate" and they have quite the resume and reputation for making successful films. Since 1998, "Lionsgate" has released a little over 130 films, some of there big films include "American Psycho, Monsters Ball, Crash, The Punisher" and of course there well known franchise "Saw".
This is not Lionsgate's first bull ride, and it sure is not the first re-make that they have been apart of. 2007 is when Lionsgate rolled the dice on one of the most gutsiest remakes in the filming industry, "3:10 to Yuma". It did quite well at the box office bye grossing over seventy million dollars world wide, and when its budget was fifty five million dollars so everyone can agree that it was a no doubt success.
I am so out spoken about the filming industry doing remakes, and I feel the only reason the studio bosses are so open to remakes is cause they want more money and they truly do not understand nor appreciate the uniqueness, and connection the original film left with audiences when they watched it. If the remake can leave the audience with the same feeling as the original did then I would say the studio bosses know what they are doing, unfortunately that is not the way most studio bosses look at it as. They fail to see the big picture cause they are blinded bye dollar signs and they fail to see the art they are about to ruin.

The second party is the director. It takes a very skilled, passionate and gifted director to do a remake. Marcus Nispel is going to take a big leap of faith with re-making Conan, because he has so much to achieve in order to please audiences around the world. Nispel has to make sure he gives the audience what they want out of this film. A great story, solid acting, non stop action and a ton of gore. I mean were here to watch a film which is suppose to have a good 90% of action that involves sex, severed heads, chopped limbs, and total carnage.
Nispel has done some very successful films in the past like "Pathfinder" and Nispel did the re-make for the Texas chainsaw massacre  in 2003 and Friday the 13th in 2009, so he has a very good sense in what to do on doing a successful remake.

The third is probably the most important one of them all. what actor would take on the responsibility of playing a role that will always be remembered as an Arnold Schwarzenegger role.
Jason Momoa is his name and he is showing the world just how capable he is buy taking the reigns of a role most seem to believe to be irreplaceable.
If you were to ask me six years ago who Jasson Momoa is I would of just replied WHO?
From 2005-2009 Momoa played a big part in the hit T.V series Stargate: Atlantis. and Just this year Momoa stared alongside Sean Bean, Lena Headey in the HBO original series "Game of Thrones". Momoa's character in the show was so original that you could not watch him without getting the slightest bit intimidated from the performance he gave. A lot of people would say it is fate, but Momoa was actually offered the role as Conan from the casting director who does the casting for game of thrones and he just believed Momoa would be perfect for this role. I'm sure most people are just set in their ways that Momoa will try and repeat the way Schwarzenegger did Conan back in 1982, but "Lionsgate", Marcus Nispel and Jason Momoa want to assure audiences that this is a reboot of Conan, not a prequel nor a sequel. Momao wants to bring a new attitude and image for Conan, and leave the irreplaceable part that Schwarzenegger did alone... in fact Momoa has not even seen the Conan films Schwarzenegger did so you can leave your mind at ease that there will be no copy cat in this Conan.

I will leave you all with this final word that I believe Conan: The Barbarian will be a film you have never seen before in so many ways. Conan will take you on a remarkable journey into a world you would never imagined possible. If you let your mind just go with the flow in this film I am quite certain you will be happy with the results at the end of this spectacular film.

To Boldly Go Where No Man Has Gone Before.... Into The Mind Of J.J. Abrams

Jeffrey Jacob (aka J.J) Abrams Just took the words out of every movie lovers mouth... literally. Steven Spielberg is one of the greatest directors to ever stand in front of a camera and say the six letter word that most people in the world dream of saying "ACTION", and I'm sure that Abrams says those words with such confidence, passion and such inspiration that I know Steven Spielberg would be proud to pass his sci-fi torch to Abrams when the time comes.

Like Spielberg was to Abrams, Abrams now has the honor and responsibility to be a leader and inspiration to all of us who love films. Abrams is a true inspiration who shows everyone that just because you start somewhere small does not mean you will not end up somewhere huge in the near future.
Abrams was the creator of the hit series "Alias" which lasted five amazing seasons, and stared stunning actress Jennifer Garner who's career took a real launch from working with J.J. Abrams. Abrams also made the mind blowing, heart pumping show "Lost" which lasted 6 seasons. Lost was said to be one of the most addicting shows of its time on the air.

When Abrams help produce the smash hit film "Cloverfield" there was some speculation on wither Abrams was doing the right project that would  either send his career into a new high or sink to the bottomless black depth. Turns out Abrams was very successful especially since "Cloverfield" racked up a little over eighty million dollars and only having a twenty five million dollar budget, I would have to say that is quite a success. The reason I liked Cloverfield was because it brought new ideas to the tables. I have never seen a film before Cloverfield that was shot from the view of a camcorder, some audiences say they got tired of seeing the camera move around as much as it did, but I on the other hand loved it because  it was like the audience was right there in person to witness the utter destruction of New York City, and bye a monster that no audiences could of possibly imagined or dreamed of.

In (2009) J. J. Abrams took on the most daring task of doing one of the most successful remakes to ever happen in the filming industry... Star Trek. Abrams wanted to take all audiences not just "Trekies" on a voyage that they would never forget and that they would grow to love, and that was to see how it all began for James T. Kirk and Dr. Spock. It was awesome that Abrams had a cast of talent that not a lot of audiences new before hand, and I think that is one reason on how Star-Trek was so successful. Abrams other reason for succeeding at Star-Trek was cause he had a great team of cast and crew who wanted  so badly and worked  so hard to let Abrams vision come to life and let the whole world treasure it's value. One good example and defender of Abrams vision is Chris Pine who portrayed James T. Kirk in his younger days upon joining Star Fleet. Pine said on numerous occasions that Abrams will bring a whole new dimension to the Star-Trek legacy. Pine also said that Abrams is so incredible cause he is great at bringing the audience great character stories that makes the audience fall in love with them and want to follow them to the ends of the galaxy.

June 11th J.J. Abrams and executive producer Steven Spielberg took audiences around the globe on another extraordinary journey that they will never forget. Super 8 opened its weekend debut at thirty five million dollars, it looks like super 8 will be a big hit for the summer, and like classic Abrams he leads a cast that mostly has unknown talent. I believe that will be great for the film, cause when u throw in a bunch of big names the film seems to get more hype and less of a guarantee to be worth the audiences time and money. Is Super 8 worth seeing? absolutely. If you are a big movie fan and want a film that will entertain you so much that you will be glued to the back of you seat from beginning to end then you should go check it out. If you need any more assurances on this film, let me tell you the biggest reason to see this film. J.J. Abrams aims to please all audience members, from the young to the old, from men to women. Abrams wants all moviegoers to come and enjoy his films with the hope that the movie you just watched changed your taste in a great way in all films.
I will leave you with this final word, that J.J. Abrams is without a doubt the most cunning and daring director in Hollywood today, Abrams acts on impulse and only has one goal each time he walks on set... to make this film the most awe inspiring film the world has witnessed. Abrams has an amazing mind of visions, my one wish is that the world gets to see all of his amazing visions come to life.

Ryan Renolds Is Green Lantern

"In brightest day, in blackest night, no evil shall escape my sight. Let those who worship evil's might, beware my power, Green Lantern's light"

Going from a college party thrower, to a really fat man who was determined to get the girl he has wanted his whole life... his best friend, all the way to a book writer who's manipulated into marrying his boss who most consider to be the devil. Ryan Reynolds has done just about every role superbly, and has made audiences everywhere laugh themselves crazy. Well this time, Ryan Reynold is going to attempt to pull off the most prestigious role of his career... play the role of "Green Lantern". June 17th is where the world will get to witness and see if Reynolds can pull off the honor of being a comic book super hero. From past films I have seen that there are three ways a comic book film can be successful.
  1. A great cast which Green Lantern has with stars Ryan Reynolds, Blake Lively and Peter Sarsgaard.
  2. Great story that will keep the audience guessing on what will come next.
  3. Successful Director. Martin Campbell has done many successful films from "The Legend of Zorro", "The Mask of Zorro" and doing two James Bond 007 films "Golden Eye" and "Casino Royal" which were very successful.
If you are looking for a great film to watch, then get in line June 17th and watch a film which is guaranteed to take you on a journey that no other comic book film has. Reynolds will give movie goers something they have never seen, and will show them that he can match up to the role of a super hero just as good as anyone. for those of you who doubt Ryan Reynolds, I implore you. Let your negativity and your judgement on Reynolds ability to play a super hero go. After all it could blow up in your face, just as much as it could blow up in mine if Reynolds fails. The only difference is I am giving Reynolds the chance to show his hidden talents. Before these two stars got the recognition they deserved most audiences did not want to see Christian Baile play the role of Batman cause they never saw him portray a hero figure before. Most audiences never even knew who Tobey Maguire was until  a trailer for Spider-man was released, and even then people still judged and did not give him a chance. The whole reason I mention Christian Baile, and Tobey Maguire is because both were given the cold shoulder until they surprised audiences around the planet that they were the real deal and not a joke. So far Christian Baile has brought Warner Bros. almost 1.5 billion dollars for his role as Batman in two films, and Tobey Maguire brought Columbia Pictures around 2.5 billion for his role as Spider-man three times. My point is that there are a lot of critics out there who don't have faith in Ryan Reynolds don't believe them until you, yourself have witnessed it... as far as anyone knows Reynolds could take "Green Lantern" into a billion dollar franchise just like Batman and Spider-man.
I will leave with this final word saying that I believe that Green Lantern will be an amazing film that audiences will love if they just give it the chance, and that I have never been let down bye any performances that Ryan Reynolds has done in the past so I don't expect him to start being bad on the biggest role he has ever been offered.

Will New X-Men Be First Class???

"Mutation. It is the key to our evolution. It has enabled us to evolve. From a single celled organism. into to the dominant species on the planet. This process is slow, normally taking thousands and thousands of years. But. every few hundred millienia. evolution leaps forward."

Brian Singer's and Brett Ratner's shoes are going to be very difficult to feel buy director Matthew Vaughn... impossible? I don't think so. from what I've seen in the trailers, Vaughn has the best odds of making a successful franchise then what Brian Singer, and Brett Ratner did. I'm Not saying that Brian Singer can't do a successful "X-Men" film... and if I were saying that I would be lying especially since Singer made the first two successful films, but did not return in to do the third  because he was in the proses of making "Superman: Returns". Ratner did a good job in "X-men: The Last Stand", but he's no Brian Singer. I believe that Matthew Vaughn will have a big advantage at this project is because "X-men: First Class" is a prequel, and the extravagant thing about prequels is that the director gets to start the franchise with a whole new prospective and with  fresh new faces. I mean sure a lot of audiences will say critical stuff like "James Macvoy, did not do half as good as Patrick Stewart" or " Why did we not get to see some of our favorite mutants like Wolverine? (sorry ladies, no shirtless Hugh Jackman in this film). The whole concept of "X-men:first class" is to show audiences and take them on an unforgettable journey into the abyss of one of thee most successful comic books movies ever made, and witness how professor Charles Xaxier aka "Professor X" and his best friend/ nemeses Eric Lensherr aka "Magneto" became best friends and how they later became arch-rivals. X-men: first class is not Matthew Vaughn's first rodeo; in fact he has done some very successful films like "Stardust", "Snatch","Lock, Stock and two smoking barrels", "Kick-Ass" and "Layer Cake". Vaughn has the challenge of making the characters in X-Men:first class lead right up to the first X-men movie (2000). Example; everyone wants to know how professor Charles Xavier became paralyzed and how he was able to control and use his extraordinary power of telepathy which is the ability to send and receive thoughts from one mind to another and is a natural ability of the human mind. I believe that Matthew Vaughn has got the right ingredients for a great film and franchise. here are some examples
  • Vaughn has Brian Singer as one of the story writers, so u know that the story won't be garbage epically since Singer wrote and directed the first two x-men films.
  • Vaughn has new talent to portray our favorite mutants when they were young.
Having James Mcavoy in this film is a great for director Matthew Vaughn, and the reason is because Mcavoy has all the traits that a director needs in order to be successful. Mcavoy has done some spectacular films like "Wanted", and "Atonement" so we have seen Mcavoy do a dramatic/ serious role, and action role, what else could you ask for from a actor like Mcavoy who I believe could really take this new franchise beyond great heights and limits.
I will leave with this last note that I have faith in Matthew Vaughn's ability to take on this challenge and make it into something so sublime. If you don't believe me then I suggest you watch some of Vaughn's last projects, which are thrilling and entertaining. X-men: first class will b a film that you won't want to miss, it has everything that you can ask for out of a action packed film. Just sit back and let professor Charles Xavier's  telepathy take care of your doubts.

The Origins Of Johnny Depp

“I think the thing to do is to enjoy the ride while you're on it.”
Well no one can say that Johnny Depp has not had one of the most amazing rides that any successful actor could ask for, and it is nowhere close to being over for the 47 year old actor. Depp is so original and so sublime that if you were to compare him to any actor today, I believe the name that would be on everybody's tongue would be Marlon Brando. Depp and Brando have the same traits and qualities as actors that in most times is mind blowing. Whenever the two actors did new films you never see the same man; instead they take the audience on a ride with a man they have never met and when the ride unfortunately ends and their identity is revealed to the audience, their breath is immediately taken away from how amazing the experience was.
One of the things that makes Depp different from other actors is that Depp does not watch himself. In 2009 when Depp was promoting "Public Enemies" on the David Letterman show Depp said.
"In a way, once my job is done on a film, it's really none of my business," Depp told Dave. "I stay as far away as I possibly can... I don't like watching myself."

And as they've seen the "Pirates" movies, Depp said, "My kids have seen more of my films than I have."
I also believe the reason Depp does not watch himself is because he does not want to judge himself and start to think that he might need to change some of the ways he does his roles. As far as I am concerned Depp should not change one bit.
With the exception of his role as Captain Jack Sparrow in the "Pirates of the Caribbean" franchise, Depp has never done the same character twice. Some theory's on  why Depp probably has never done any sequels prior to "Pirates Of The Caribbean"
  • The character has reached his final destination, and there is no reason to proceed with a sequel.
  • The new storyline on the main character (s) is not exciting enough, does not go with the previous films background, and does not come full circle like the previous film did.
  • and last, Depp does not want to be a "sell out" and does not want to mislead the audience into believing that he does the film just for the money.

Depp has done just about everything that any actor could possibly dream of. Depp's gone from his first big movie debut which was in master of horror artist Wes Craven's "Nightmare On Elm Street" to a man with scissors for hands in  Tim Burton's "Edward Scissor Hands" and finally to  his most beloved character Captain Jack Sparrow in "Pirates of the Caribbean: on stranger tides."
Most fans are wondering What Johnny Depp will do now? Another Pirates film? more then likely especially since it has claimed over $380 million at the box office, but not just yet. Summer of (2011) Depp is scheduled to do "Dark Shadows" Depp's 8th film with mind blowing director Tim Burton, where Depp will take on the lead role as 200yr old vampire "Barnabas Collins," who was originally played by Johnathan Frid. Depp said that he wants and hopes to keep the character of Barnebas Collins just the way Johnathan Frid did in the series. Burton leads an outstanding cast along side with Johnny Depp,  Helena Bonham Carter, Jackie Earle Haley, Eva Green and Michelle Pfiffer. "Dark Shadows" was a T.V series from 1966-1971, and had two movies released (House of Dark Shadows, and Night of Dark Shadows). "Dark Shadows" will be the ultimate Vampire film in recent memory. Most audiences might think that Tim Burton and Depp are just trying to get on the vampire wagon; but what most people don't know is that Burton and Depp wanted to do this movie over ten years ago, but postponed it because both had other obligations and commitments. Now both Burton and Depp are ready to release there ultimate masterpiece on the world in (summer 2012). If it had not been for dark shadows giving off the Ora that it did there might not be as many successful vampire projects like " Interview with the vampire", "The Lost Boys", and the phenomenal  HBO original series "True Blood." Dark shadows is without a doubt the godfather of vampire projects, and now we the audience get to witness  how Tim Burton and Johnny Depp are going to show the world how "Dark Shadows" is a force to be reckoned with, and that other vampire projects will bow down to it's true maker.
I would like to close with this final word that I truly respect Johnny Depp for all that he has done in film, and for being a true example and inspiration to me. I only hope that when I reach my dreams and become a director I will be able to have the absolute honor to work along side Hollywood's most humbled and brightest star, Johnny Depp.

Christopher Nolan: The Future Of Film?

Christopher Nolan is one of the most popular and widely respected Directors in today's filming industry. Nolan has been known to take audiences on one of the greatest rides they will ever experience. His films always keeps the audience guessing, and when you feel like you have had enough... you just want more. What is Christopher Nolan's future to be in Tinseltown? Will he still be able to shock audiences around the world? Is he an example of what young directors will strive to be like? Will he be a name that fans will keep in their hearts and minds as one of their favorites directors like James Cameron, Clint Eastwood, or Steven Spielberg; or will he just fade away in time? Ha ha not likely!
Nolan  has done some of the most memorable films and in just 11 years, starting from "Memento" (2000) to his last installment of the Batman trilogy "The Dark Knight Rises" which will hit theaters summer (2012)

I can say without a doubt that every film Christopher Nolan has done I have always walked away impressed every time and never feeling like I was cheated out of my money and cheated out of a few hours of my life. I take my hat off to Nolan who's mind is so creative and so sublime that he is guaranteed to be the most genuine film makers the world will come to know.

If you enjoyed watching "Inception" which was one of summer  (2010) biggest juggernauts, then you have got to ask yourself, how does Christopher Nolan do it? How does he keep me at the edge of my seat every time; and how does he seem to surpass himself through every film? I believe that Nolan's film making is like the  saying people have for wine "Only gets better with age". Nolan's mind and ideas are so fantastic and original that I truly believe that he will succeed beyond what words can comprehend.
When I read that "The Dark Knight Rises" will be Nolan's last Batman film, I was shocked and now am worried that the franchise might sink to the bottom, like the Batman films did in the 90's after Tim Burton and Michael Keaton left; cause the studio wanted a new direction... What a mistake considering that Tim Burtons first two Batman films made over 228 million more then Joel Schumacher's two Batman films.

The studio bosses should just leave the Batman films alone after Nolan is finished especially since he has made them over 1.3 billion dollars already on just the first two films; but who knows maybe the studio bosses just like to loose money. I'm not saying they can't be done again, but just let the glory of Nolan's trilogy seep in for a while.

So what will Christopher Nolan do after Batman trilogy is over? I'm sure he has so many amazing ideas just running through his mind 24/7. He just needs to pick one that he knows will blow the audience's mind and leave them breathless and speechless. I can leave this last note saying that I truly believe that Christopher Nolan is the future of cinema, and will always make sure his films always leave on a high note. Nolan once said “I think audiences get too comfortable and familiar in today's movies. They believe everything they're hearing and seeing. I like to shake that up.” I am confident and will put my faith in Nolan 100% because he has not let the audience down yet, so why doubt someone who's visions are without a doubt working.
